Spring in Kemah
Fresh air, sunshine, and a calendar full of family fun make spring the perfect time to visit.
Easter Egg Hunt & Easter Eggstravaganza – Thousands of stuffed eggs, face painting, balloon artists, photos with the Easter Bunny, a petting zoo, and more.
Spring Break on the Bay
Spring Break is the perfect time to enjoy Kemah’s waterfront charm. With sunny weather, live entertainment, and a full schedule of family-friendly activities, our little bay town is big on fun. From relaxing along the Boardwalk to exploring unique shops and dining spots, Kemah is the place to be for springtime memories.Jazz Fest (Kemah Boardwalk) – Talented high school jazz bands compete in an energetic showcase of music.
Celtic Festival (Kemah Boardwalk) – A celebration of Celtic culture with music, dance, food, and family fun.
Crawfish & Zydeco Festival (Kemah Boardwalk) – Hot boils, cold drinks, and lively Zydeco music bring Louisiana flavor to the bay.
Blessing of the Fleet – A cherished coastal tradition honoring local shrimpers and fishermen, complete with decorated boats and community festivities.

Summer nights on the bay shine bright with concerts, fireworks, and coastal adventures.
Rock the Dock (Thursdays, Kemah Boardwalk) – Free live concerts all summer long on the waterfront stage.
- Texas Outlaw Challenge High-performance boats, the Stampede Street Party, and multi-day racing excitement around Clear Lake and Galveston Bay.
- Tidewater Boats Elite Fishing Series – Kemah Klash
As seen on the Discovery Channel, this three-day redfish tournament includes pro-am and kayak competitions, qualifying rounds, and Championship Saturday. Tejano Nights – Music, dancing, and community spirit fill the bay with rhythm and energy.
Friday Night Fireworks (June & July) – Free fireworks light up Galveston Bay every Friday night, paired with live music.
Summer Kickoff (Kemah Boardwalk) – Celebrate the start of summer with music, food, and fun on the waterfront.
4th of July Celebration – A patriotic parade, children’s activities, live entertainment, and fireworks over the bay.

Boo on the Boardwalk Spooky fun for the whole family with themed weekends in October featuring costume contests, live entertainment, and Halloween activities.
National Night Out - Join us for National Night Out on Tuesday, October 7, from 6–8 p.m. at the city parking lot off 6th Street. Enjoy family fun, police and fire vehicles, hot dogs, giveaways, a vendor market, and the chance to meet neighbors and first responders.
Trunk or Treat - A safe and festive Halloween tradition in the Lighthouse District. Families can stroll through creatively decorated car trunks, collect candy, and enjoy seasonal fun in a lively community setting.
Oktoberfest Weekend (Kemah Boardwalk & Lighthouse District) – German beer, food, and music at the Boardwalk, plus specials at Lighthouse District bars.
Day of the Dead (Kemah Boardwalk) – Colorful altars, cultural traditions, and community celebration.

- Pancakes with Santa – Join Santa and the City of Kemah for this holiday tradition that includes breakfast, photo ops, a petting zoo and SNOW!
- Lighthouse District Christmas Market – Local vendors for holiday gifts and treats.
- New Year’s Eve Celebration – A special kids’ countdown and fireworks to welcome the new year.
Mardi Gras
Kemah brings Mardi Gras to the Texas coast with a colorful mix of parades, music, and coastal flair.Krewes Into Kemah Mardi Gras Parade – Watch brightly decorated jeeps, golf carts and floats (including a pirate ship), music, and costumed participants tossing beads and trinkets through the Lighthouse District.
Yachty Gras Boat Parade – Since 1999, this dazzling parade of decorated boats has brought Mardi Gras spirit to Galveston Bay. Crews toss beads and goodies to crowds gathered along the Kemah Boardwalk.
