Communications & Tourism Office

The Communications & Tourism Office serves as the voice of the City of Kemah—fostering strong connections through Community Relations, promoting local tourism under the Discover Kemah brand, and managing City-sponsored Special Events. Our mission is to keep residents informed, attract visitors, and provide meaningful experiences for all who live, work, and play in Kemah.

What We Do

We oversee four essential functions that support Kemah’s hometown spirit:

• Community Relations – ensuring two-way communication between City leadership and the public.
• Media Relations - serving as the liaison between the City and local, regional, and national media outlets to ensure accurate and timely coverage of City news and initiatives.
• Tourism – showcasing Kemah as a premier waterfront destination.
• Special Events – coordinating family-friendly gatherings that strengthen our community.

Discover Kemah

As the tourism arm of the City, Discover Kemah collaborates with hotels, restaurants, shops, and attractions to encourage overnight stays and extended visits. From romantic getaways to family-friendly fun, we aim to ensure every guest experiences the charm and hospitality Kemah is known for.

Special Events

We manage all major citywide events and support our community partners in bringing their programs to life.
