In keeping with Governor Greg Abbott’s strong emphasis on compliance with the CDC Guidelines for COVID-19, Galveston County has issued a “Stay-at-Home" Order effective tomorrow night at 11:59 PM and it will continue through 11:59 PM on April 3rd.
Residents should stay at home unless traveling within the community for essential activities or to perform essential business or government functions.
Essential activities include those required to maintain health and safety, procure services and supplies, care for family and pets, engage in socially distant outdoor activities, and perform essential business or government functions.
ESSENTIAL BUSINESS includes:
Essential Healthcare Operations, including medical and veterinary services, and blood banks
Essential Government Functions, including police/fire, EMS, public works, mail, and security
Essential Critical Infrastructure, including utilities, internet/telecommunications, financial
institutions, trash collection, construction, manufacturing, and distribution
Essential Retail, including restaurants (carry out or delivery only), groceries, pharmacies, gas
stations, hardware and home/auto repair, laundry, and supply products
Providers of Basic Necessities to Economically Disadvantaged Populations
Essential Services Necessary to Maintain Essential Operations of Residence or Other Essential
