SH146 Expansion - New Lane Closures 05.16.22

New lane closures for the SH146 project:


FULL CLOSURES CANCELLED:

 

  1. Bel Road will be fully closed (both directions) just west of SH146 in Kemah from 5:00 am Tuesday, 5/17/22, through 5:00 am Sunday, 5/22/22.  This closure is for constructing permanent pavement for the Bel Road intersection. One off-duty police officer is anticipated to be used during daytime closures, and one off-duty police officer is used during nighttime closures.
    1. No detour is needed for this full closure; all businesses can be accessed from FM 518.


LANE CLOSURES:

 

 

  1. There will be alternating lane closures on northbound and southbound SH 146 from Red Bluff to the south of NASA from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm daily from 5/17/22 through 5/20/22. These closures are needed to place sod along the frontage roads, and no off duty police officer is anticipated to be used in these closures.

 

 

FULL CLOSURES:

 

  1. FM518 will be fully closed (both directions) just west of SH146 in Kemah from 5:00 am Thursday 5/19/22 through 5:00 am Friday 5/20/22.  This closure supports bridge construction activities on the express bridge. 2 off-duty police officers are anticipated to be used during daytime closures, and one off-duty police officer is anticipated to be used during nighttime closures.
    1. Detour for traffic on SH146: FM518 can be accessed by turning west on SH96, then north on FM270 until you reach FM518.
    2. Detour for traffic on FM518: turn south on Kemah Avenue, then east on Bel Road.  (Kemah Avenue, also known as Evergreen Memorial Parkway.  Bel Road, also known as Ralph Gordy Avenue)

                                          i.    An alternate detour will be set up for traffic coming from further west: SH146 can be reached by traveling south on FM270 and then east on SH96.

 

 

  1. FM2094 will be fully closed (both directions) just west of SH146 from 5:00 am Monday, 5/23/22, through 5:00 am Sunday, 5/29/22.  This closure is for pavement operations at the FM2094 intersection.  2 off-duty police officers are anticipated to be used during daytime closures, and one off-duty police officer is anticipated to be used during nighttime closures.
    1. Detour for traffic on SH146: FM2094 can be accessed by turning west on FM518 until you reach FM2094.
    2. Detour for traffic on FM2094: SH146 can be reached by traveling west on FM2094, south on FM270, and east on SH96.


These closures are subject to change if needed due to weather, and additional notifications regarding changes or cancellations will be posted when made available.
