Kemah’s location on the Gulf Coast and proximity to Galveston Bay makes it especially vulnerable to tropical storms and other flood-related events. The information and links connected to this page have been created to serve as an “all-inclusive” source for property owners in Kemah to increase awareness about flood hazards.
Prepare for Hurricane Season
Preparing for a hurricane involves taking proactive measures to safeguard lives and property before the hurricane arrives.
State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR)
The State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR) program is a free registry that provides local emergency planners and emergency responders with additional information on the needs in their community. Texas communities use the registry information in different ways. Registering yourself in the STEAR registry DOES NOT guarantee that you will receive a specific service during an emergency. Available services will vary by community.
