The Human Resources & Payroll Department oversees all functions related to talent management and employee support—from recruitment and hiring to training, performance management, and employee relations. The department also manages compensation and benefits, ensures legal compliance, develops policies and procedures, supports internal communications, and helps foster a positive workplace culture that keeps the organization running smoothly.
In addition to supporting employees, the department assists City departments with budget preparation by providing recommendations and calculating payroll estimates. Human Resources & Payroll also works closely with the Finance Director on budget development, audits, recordkeeping, and other administrative needs as assigned—helping keep both people and numbers on track.
The City is also proud to be recognized as a We Hire Vets organization by the Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Veterans Commission, reflecting a commitment to supporting veterans through recruitment, hiring, and long-term career development.
