The City Secretary's office oversees all municipal legislative processes, including scheduling, agenda development, and compliance with all City business. The City Secretary attends each meeting of the City Council and maintains a record of accurate minutes of the proceedings. Agendas and minutes may be reviewed in the Agenda Center.
They also manage all municipal elections, bond issues, and referendums.
The City Secretary is responsible for directing and coordinating all public information and records management matters. They serve as the Records Management Officer and are the custodian of all official city records, such as ordinances, resolutions, contracts, easements, and deeds of city-owned properties, for the City of Kemah.
This office oversees publications and postings of legal notices and agendas of all boards and commissions of the city, monitors and manages the terms and attendance of all board and commission members, and coordinates municipal elections.
The City Secretary's Office also oversees the publication and codification of the City of Kemah Municipal Code of Ordinances. Also, it provides information maintained by and for the city per requirements established by law in the Texas Public Information Act.
